HOW TO SET UP AN OFFSHORE COMPANY IN 10 MINUTES

offshore-companyformations

Before getting our first seed investment the investor requested to setup a company that holds the company shares, unfortunately the law in our Country wasn’t that supportive because we have a foreign investor.

The only solution was to setup an offshore company, here is another obstacle because I really didn’t understand the procedures so I went to lawyers that work with startups and can help with all the procedures to setup an offshore company, but their fees were very high (around 5000$+).

  • We searched around and finally found this site https://www.bizfilings.com/, just follow easy steps and register your company in USA (State: Delaware , Business Type: C Corp).
  • For offshore bank Account we used http://www.bmi.com.sc/, we contacted them via mail and requested some papers (passport, agreements, company registrations…) and Done!
  • The whole process cost is 800$ wohoooooooooo 🙂

Hope this was helpful

Good Luck!!

How to keep your entrepreneurial Spirit Alive

entrepreneurial_spirit_main

Entrepreneur Niklas Zennstrom once said:” If you want to be an entrepreneur, it’s not a job, it’s a lifestyle. It defines you. Forget about vacations, about going home at 6 pm – last thing at night you’ll send emails, first thing in the morning you’ll read emails, and you’ll wake up in the middle of the night. But it’s hugely rewarding as you’re fulfilling something for yourself.

Being An Entrepreneur is not at all Glamorous It’s stressful. If you think meeting your boss’s deadlines or demands is tough, try meeting your own, especially when your personal savings are on the line, workload can be intense and it’s frustrating.

So with this kind of stress, pressure and workload how to keep your entrepreneurial Spirit Alive! am sharing with you what I’ve learned so far 🙂

Remember the time when you had the great idea to start your business? You did everything possible to turn that vision into a reality. It was exciting, nerve-wracking and rewarding all at the same time.

Don’t fear failure; people we try to avoid the negative consequences of failure; BUT we also lose out on the chance of success.

Create a wall of positivity, a motivational wall start printing out quotes, pictures that motivates you and reminds you of your passion.

Surround yourself with like-minded people. Try to spend time with people who have a positive outlook on life, they can be very inspiring, and avoid negative people.

Take care of yourself, recharge your energy by doing something that makes you happy.

Have other goals to achieve in your life other than work, that will make you happy and gives you strength and confidence.

Remember you have adopted a lifestyle of taking chances, while someone else has declined that challenge, don’t lose your entrepreneurial spirit. It’s what got you where you are in the first place, and it will help you every day as you live in this non-stop world.

Why Entrepreneurs Need Mentors

A lot of entrepreneurs succeeded without mentors but it will cost extra time and wasted resources.

Good Mentors will change your business life for the better. All of those conversations and meetings with them will be valuable

I would like to share with you why personally I think Entrepreneurs need Mentors:

  • They’ve “been there, done that” , learn from others about their mistakes and success.
  • Mentor is direct yet supportive; Your mentor can be able to identify mistakes you’re making quickly and let you know in time to fix them and move forward.
  • expand your social network ;Your mentor, being an experienced leader, businessperson or even an investor, is likely to have an extensive network that eventually he/she can introduce you to.
  • Help you make decisions; they can give you valuable advice on certain topics that you have a lack of experience in.

Good mentors will be hard to track down, and their time is extremely limited , but I had a great group of mentors I met through our accelerator program and now we have a trusted, long-term relationship.

Never give up on becoming an entrepreneur

I found this great infographic that made my day actually after a long busy day because it reminded me why I wanted to become an entrepreneur

Image

If you believe you have great Idea then take an action and start, do not give up.

Do your homework first and accept criticism.

Am not in a position to tell anyone what to do but sometimes we need encouragement to remind ourselves of our dreams, to never forget positive thinking and try positive actions too.

Sometimes you will get rejected, find out why because that will make you do better next time.

Good Luck for all of us 🙂

Elevator Pitch

I would like to share my humble experience in elevator pitch with you.

Elevator pitch is a powerful way to outline your business and to get invitation to deliver a more detailed presentation.

Image

As entrepreneur you need to present your idea or startup to investors interested in early stage investment.

How much time do you think you need for your pitch?

Well, i thought i will have 30 minutes but actually I only had less than 2 minutes.

What are the main points that should be in the elevator pitch?

1. Describe clients pain.

2. Describe your solution.

3. Your potential Market ; be specific while addressing the market size.

For example do not say internet users, instead internet users ages between 18 – 30 from the Middle East = 5,000,000 users and the market is growing 20% every year.

4. Business Model “How do you make money” ; use simple and straight revenue streams.

5. Competitors, remember every business has competitors; describe how your business is different and better.

6. Money, you are here to raise money:

  • How much money do you need and how would you spend it : Marketing Campaign, Hiring people … etc
  • When your business will break-even

7. Summary

  • Why investors should invest in you

How Should you pitch?

  • Use simple language
  • Try to start your pitch with a simple story that will describe clients pain to create a visual image to investors.
  • Talk with confidence.
  • Practice, Practice, Practice , pitch to friends and family.

This is my first elevator pitch at ArabNet Beirut, I admit that I was a little bit nervous 🙂
